Vishnu Chemicals Limited
India’s largest integrated manufacturer of chromium and barium chemicals, supplying pharmaceuticals, electroplating, ceramics, pigments and leather industries across domestic and export markets.
Recent Activity
Foray into new specialty chemicals, including DMSO and chromium derivatives
In its Q3 FY26 investor presentation, Vishnu Chemicals outlined plans to expand into new speciality chemicals — including DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) and chromium derivatives — alongside its core chromium and barium chemicals business, as part of a push toward higher-margin, value-added products.
Company Description
Vishnu Chemicals, incorporated in 1989 and headquartered in Hyderabad, manufactures, markets and exports chromium chemicals — including Basic Chromium Sulphate, Sodium Dichromate, Potassium Dichromate, Chromic Acid and Chrome Oxide Green — and barium chemicals, including Barium Carbonate and Precipitated Barium Sulphate, a business it acquired from Solvay in 2015.
Its products serve industries including pharmaceuticals, electroplating, ceramics and tiles, wood preservatives, pigments and dyes, refractories, leather and detergents, with manufacturing plants in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, and export markets spanning Asia, Europe, North America and Africa.
The company has signalled a strategic push into higher-margin specialty derivative chemicals, moving beyond its traditional bulk chromium and barium product lines.

Why almost nobody has looked at this yet
-
1
Industrial, not consumer-facing: as a B2B specialty chemicals manufacturer, Vishnu Chemicals doesn’t have the visibility of a consumer brand, despite its scale in chromium chemicals.
-
2
Cyclical commodity inputs: its raw materials (chrome ore, barytes) are subject to price cycles, which can make headline numbers volatile and harder for screeners to summarize cleanly.
-
3
Specialty pivot is early-stage: its move into DMSO and chromium derivatives is recent, so its impact is not yet fully reflected in historical financials or most coverage.
